Problem 3.2
A- Which recipe will make juice that is the most “orangey”? Explain your answer.
Mix A will make the juice most “orangey” because it has the highest amount of concentrate.
Mix A- 80/120 Mix B- 30/120 Mix C- 60/120 Mix D- 72/120
B- Which recipe will make juice that is the least “orangey”? Explain your answer.
Mix B will make the juice the least “orangey” because it has the lowest concentrate.
Mix A- 80/120 Mix B- 30/120 Mix C- 60/120 Mix D- 72/120
C- Assume that each camper will get ½ cup of juice. For each recipe, how much
concentrate and how much water are needed to make juice for 240 campers?
Explain your answer.
Mix A- 48/72 Mix B- 24/96 Mix C- 39.6/80.4 Mix D- 45.6/75.6
Explanation: Concentrate divided by total/ water divided by total and divide the answer by 120. (Half cup of juice for each camper)
Problem 3.2 F.U.
1. How did you use ratios in solving Problem 3.1?
I didn’t really use any ratios in solving the problems.
2. For each recipe, how much concentrate and how much water is needed to
make 1 cup of juice?
Mix A- 0.4/0.6 Mix B- 0.2/0.8 Mix B- 0.3/0.7 Mix D- 0.4/0.6
